JIM WILLIAMS, GOLF SCHOOL ADVISOR

A Plymouth, MI, native, Jim Williams fell in love with the game of golf as a teenager working for a local golf course. As a young adult, Jim served 4 years in the United States Airforce before going on to earn a degree in Marketing and Professional Golf Management at Ferris State University, where he later graduated as a class "A” PGA Member.

Prior to joining the Marriott Vacation Club team, Jim held various positions within the golf industry, including stints as Head Golf Professional at two country clubs in Florida, and National Golf Sales Manager for a golf training aid company.

With over 30 years of professional golf experience, Jim has been an integral part of the Marriott Vacation Club team since year 2000, starting as a certified instructor before moving into his current role as Golf School Advisor. A veteran of the Marriott Vacation Club team, Jim is actively involved in enhancing student experience—backed by his extensive teaching knowledge, Jim consults with students who are unsure about what program would best fit their needs and works to place them in the proper setting to maximize their learning potential and create a memorable experience.

A husband and father of two daughters, Jim enjoys traveling with his family and has played golf in all 50 states. Jim is always eager to talk about his three career holes-in-one, two of which actually occurred during a 9-hole playing lesson that he was teaching – a 6 iron and an 8 iron while calling his shots! When Jim is not setting students up for success, traveling or playing golf, he is also an avid hockey fan.
